Abit IC7 i875 Motherboard Review

Introduction
Abit
were one of the first out of the blocks with an 875 based motherboard with their IC7 motherboard, and along with the Asus P4C800, quickly established itself as the enthusiast board of choice for the majority of performance users. We have had the board for quite some time, giving us plenty of opportunity to give it a thorough evaluation.
The box is a distinct departure from the usual blue and white
Abit
boxes, with the IC7 sporting a matt black box. Inside the box you will find a much more comprehensive bundle than we have come to expect from this manufacturer. If you take a look at some of our other recent Abit reviews, you will see that they have a reputation for rather stingy packages, especially where IDE cables are concerned!
Within the IC7 box in addition to the motherboard itself, you will find:
- Two instruction manuals
- RAID driver disk
- I/O backing shield
- Driver disks
- Two SATA power connectors
- Two SATA drive connectors
- A rounded IDE cable
- A rounded floppy cable
You can buy the
Abit
IC7 from Chillblast in the UK for £89ex VAT, which makes it one of the cheapest i875 boards available. For users in the US, a quick browse on
Pricegrabber
shows that it can be had for $117 USD and up (
