Corsair 1GB Twin X XMS4000 Memory Review

Introduction
PC3500 was the highest standard of memory for quite some time, and with good reason - simply very few people needed, or were able, to run their sticks at higher than 217MHz. The Springdale and Canterwood have now changed all that, with most boards and lower end Pentium 4 C's making 250MHz FSB an easy proposition. Memory performance at that speed is extremely good even at 5:4 or 3:2 ratios, but at 1:1 the potential throughput is nothing short of sensational.
Corsair
have recognised the need for very fast memory sticks and have thus released their PC3700 and PC4000 memory lines.
Rather than the two single boxes taped together that corsair were previously using for their matched pairs, they now have dedicated TwinX packaging, an instruction pamphlet and a backing card boasting just how good the memory you just purchased really is. The traditional black corsair heat spreaders make their usual appearance, although these days they are joined by holographic Xtreme Memory Speed stickers, minimising the chances of counterfeit sticks being sold.
You can buy the XMS4000 1GB kit from
Overclockers UK
for £326 plus postage.
