Twinmos 1024MB Dual Channel PC3200 kit
Posted by: Ben on 17th of June 2003
Twinmos have become quite well known in the UK overclocking circles, as offering often Corsair-beating performance at a fraction of the price. They don't come with any of the fancy extras such as heat-spreaders, holographic stickers or uber-aggressive SPD timings as standard, but they do seem to offer fast, no-frills memory at bargain bin prices.

Dual channel chipsets have offered a new challenge to performance memory manufacturers and whilst it's simple to make two sticks work together at PC2100 or even PC2700 speeds, 400Mhz and higher is an altogether different challenge. Corsair will be the first to admit that this was the case, as it forced them to release Twin X - too many mismatches within revisions were causing problems with their memory, especially on Nforce 2 motherboards. OCZ and GeIL quickly followed suit and Twinmos have now joined the bandwagon.

The sticks are rated to run at PC3200 speed (400MHz) at CAS 2.5, with timings of 8-3-3 at 2.6V. You can pick 512MB sticks of PC3200 up for around $90 a stick in the states and around £55 a stick from Overclockers in the UK.
